Then we headed over to Jackson to spend the rest of the week with my family. My brother and his wife and little girl came over Christmas Eve night after church and we ate dinner and opened presents with them. They made a big announcement that they're expecting another baby in July! We were so excited! Caroline will have another cousin to play with :) Our two girls were really cute together and we got a few good pictures and videos (check those out on picasa).
By the time Christmas day came, we'd already opened all the presents so we just slept in and relaxed and went to see my grandmother. She's in a hospice facility and isn't doing too well. Her breast cancer ended up being all over her body, especially in her liver and bones. She was awake when we got there and seemed glad to see us, but slept on-and-off while we were there. I was glad she got to see Caroline one more time, but it made me sad to see her like that and know that it could be the last time. On another sad note on Christmas day, we got in the car and realized several things were STOLEN out of it the night before in my parents driveway! Who steals stuff on CHRISTMAS DAY?!?! (jerks!) In the rush and in the rain we must have forgotten to lock it and some crumb-bums took our phone chargers, GPS, my old iPod, and my checkbook! I was SO upset!! But after I calmed down I realized it was just "stuff" that could all be replaced and I was just glad we still had our car and our health! And we had taken in all the gifts thinking "so they won't get stolen" and I'm so glad we did! Alas, we were reminded of the REAL reason for the season: JESUS! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!
Here's Caroline trying to stand up like a big girl by the Christmas tree and our family:
