Our neighborhood pool opened the Saturday before Memorial Day and since it was hot and sunny, we took the kids for a while that morning and ate a picnic lunch there. Some of our neighbor friends were there and we enjoyed being with them.
We headed back for naps (everyone crashed!), then ate an early dinner and went back to the pool for some more playing. Then when it started to get dark, they showed a poolside movie and had popcorn and snacks to buy. It was so fun and the kids had a great time! Caroline played SO hard and just kept jumping in and out of the water so she was worn out! Luke enjoyed splashing around and when they got tired, I showered the kids and put them in their PJs so we could just take them home & put them to bed!
Caroline got a little sunburned so we took a break from the pool on Sunday, but then headed back on Monday morning. We just stayed a couple of hours this time and ate lunch and went home for naps again. Caroline got even more sunburned despite us covering her with 50+ SPF sunscreen and reapplying it while we were there! We’ll have to get her a rash guard for next time we go. But we had lots of fun and enjoyed getting to see some friends and meeting new ones! But we were most thankful for those who died serving our country so that we can be free to enjoy holidays like this one!
