A friend of mine gave me the name of a girl who did art projects at your house! She was supposed to come the week before school started, but she was busy and never came. SO, I decided to just get the art supplies myself and draw pictures for my kids to paint! I’m so glad I did because the kids enjoyed it and it was something fun we could do together before the busyness of school. I thought they turned out pretty well!
Another highlight of the month was our 8th anniversary! Chris got a babysitter for the kids and took me to the Melting Pot restaurant – and we sat in “Lover’s Lane,” kind of a private booth away from all the noisy, larger parties. It was delicious!
Then we hopped on the bandwagon and the kids did the ALS ice bucket challenge – Caroline was very excited about it and wanted to do it again and again! Luke, not so much!
Another highlight was that we got a new lawn mower! No more push mower, we got a riding one. Chris loves it and so do the kids! They’re always begging to ride with him. It’ll be great for the fall leaves this year!
The best part of all (to the kids) was this box from the leaf bagger attachment! It’s SO big and has provided hours of entertainment!

And we celebrated school starting back with ice cream! This was Luke’s first time having a cone instead of a cup – he loved it!
Another first for Luke was roller skating! We took some friends that Chris tutors and had a lot of fun:
At the end of the month, we went to Jackson for a long weekend around Labor Day. We had a good visit with my family and the kids enjoyed seeing their cousins, as usual. The only way to catch them all these days is with iPads!
Four out of 5 ain’t bad!
The next day we all went to the park to burn off some energy before being cooped up in the rain!
We took some family pics after church on Sunday while everyone was all dressed up:
