Countdown to Sweet Pea or Peanut!

At week 18, our little Sweet Pea is 6 inches long and weighs half a pound, about the size of a large mango. Arms and legs are finally in proportion, neurons are now connected between the brain and muscles, and cartilage throughout the body is turning to bone. A protective substance called vernix caseosa (Latin for cheesy varnish) now covers the baby's skin, protecting it from the surrounding amniotic fluid.

We're getting really excited about next week's ultrasound!! But meanwhile we've been decorating the house for Christmas. Here are some pictures:
(notice the tiny red stocking for Sweet Pea :)

Joy, so random but we lived together at Kim's in Birmingham in 2005 right before I got married/when you got engaged. I just saw your picture on Lindsey Newlin's blog--such a small world! Congrats on the baby--so exciting! I graduated from law school in May 2007, and Scott and I are in Atlanta. No children, pets, or blog :) Anyway, I'm glad things are going well for you guys!
