About Sweet Caroline...

Sorry I've been really bad at updating my blog AND taking care of a newborn - I know you all understand but three cheers for those of you who successfully did BOTH! I guess it's just not been the first thing I think to do when I have a quiet moment, and I have trouble thinking of what to post! But now that I have some things, here we go:

CRIB update: WE HAVE A CRIB!! It arrived at the store on the truck today and they delivered it to our house this evening! :) I can't wait to put it together and put up some pictures (that'll be something to post about!). The store owner said that I win the prize for waiting the longest for a crib (she said she didn't know what the prize was, but that I won it). She did give me an upgraded mattress, a cute purple hippo, AND a generous gift card from her store for all the trouble - it was the least she could do!

Caroline's birth announcements also came this week, so I've been busy making my list and still have to get them addressed and out in the mail. AND I just picked up the cross-stitch sampler I did for Caroline and had framed so now I can hang it in her room. This was a big week for baby stuff! :)

Caroline's 4 week appointment is Friday and they'll weigh her and stick her heel to test for a bunch of genetic disorders, so I'll try to update everyone after that. At her last appointment 2 weeks ago, she weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, which was just one ounce away from her birth weight. So I'm curious to see how much she's gained these past 2 weeks.

She's been a really good baby so far, eating about every 3 hours. She'll cluster feed (eat every hour or 2) between 9pm and midnight, which is tiring, but then she'll sleep until 4:30 and lately it's been 5:30! Then she'll go back to sleep until 8:30, so it's been really nice to be able to sleep for those bigger chunks of time. We've been giving her a paci since she was about 10 days (the pediatrician said we could since she was eating so well) and she likes it, but isn't really attached - she mainly uses it during the day when she's gassy or has the hiccups but doesn't usually sleep with it. Also, she had her first bottle last week when my mom was here and babysat while I went to Bible study. She did great! And I gave her another one today when I had to run some errands after going to the doctor. We're so thankful to have such a sweet baby and hope she stays this sweet! (She IS our sweet pea, afterall ;)
