Double Trouble

Well, I knew it had to happen eventually, but I was hoping it wouldn't. Caroline has her first ear infection and it's in BOTH ears, poor baby! And the doctor said they looked pretty bad (with pus & everything!). She started with a cough weekend before last, and at first it was just at night. Then she started coughing more during the day and her nose ran a little. Then on Friday she got really congested and was having trouble breathing. It was the weekend, of course! So I stayed home with her most of the weekend, and we didn't even go to church yesterday. Then I took her to the doctor this afternoon. She gave her some antibiotics, so hopefully that will do the trick. She's been happy for the most part, but has been pulling at her ears more than usual. And she's been having trouble sleeping/breathing at night, but she's still be eating and nursing just fine (that's my good eater-girl!).
I just feel so bad for her knowing she's hurting :( Pray this medicine will make her feel better soon!

Poor baby! I hope she's not following in her cousin's footsteps with the ear infections!

I'm so sorry! I have always hated ear infections the most -- they make our babies hurt so bad! BUT y'all did GREAT avoiding it until now. Seriously. I'm gonna say it's all the nursing... :) Did the doc give you any otic solution? They're these thick, gross drops you put in their ears and they relieve pain almost immediately while the antibiotic is working. They're FABULOUS! If they weren't prescribed, I'd call back and ask for some...
