Let it Snow!

We had about an inch of snow fall here in Huntsville yesterday and it actually stuck! The only problem is that a cold front of Arctic air followed it and froze it. So we had a half day of work/school yesterday and we're closed today as all of the roads are icy. Chris braved the hazardous conditions and bitter cold (15 degrees) and went to work this morning, but Caroline and I are staying warm at home today. Here are some pictures of our yard and house covered in snow:

In other news, Caroline is 8 months old today! She's growing so fast and learning new things every day, it seems like. She's becoming more mobile and crawls backwards and is pulling up a little. She really likes to stand up and hold on to something rather than sit on the floor and play (that was SO last month!). She's also jabbering up a storm and still loves to say "dada" and "mama" but her new thing isn't so sweet. When she's mad or being impatient (like for food) and wants something, she'll say "na-na-na!" in this loud, whiny tone and it's really not pleasant. I think we're going to have a tough toddler on our hands in the not-too-distant future!
Here's our little 8 month-old (excuse the bad hair day - it's so dry). If you look closely at her bottom gums, you can sort of see her teeth coming through:

That's hilarious that she just shouts the same noise over and over! Pretty soon this genius child will be speaking in complete sentences, no worries!
