Then on Saturday some friends invited us to come to their church's egg hunt across town. It was a beautiful day and even my Dad got out to enjoy the day & the kids. The egg hunt was short and (not so) sweet. There were WAY too many kids for the age group so our kids got like 2 eggs each, but that was FINE since we had so many eggs and candy already from other hunts! They had fun doing other activities like the bounce house and giant slide and cookie decorating. And Luke had fun just wandering/running around!
Caroline had cotton candy for the first time and didn’t really know what to think of it! She loved the big slide though!
That afternoon Caroline helped us dye eggs for the first time. She had fun doing her favorite colors, pink and purple, and putting stickers on them! And even did some for Luke (since we didn’t really let him help, ha!).
That night we decided to have our “Easter dinner” so we wouldn’t have to cook everything after church the next day and we could just have leftovers. It worked out great! We had Honey Baked ham and carrot soufflĂ© that my mom had brought, then I made roasted asparagus, salad, and rolls:
Then Sunday the kids (well, Caroline) were excited to see their Easter baskets full of goodies:
Luke was in a mood and didn’t care what was in his (books and stickers) and wasn’t really feeling pictures, but this was about the best we could do of both:
He perked up a little later before we left for church and we got a few more of both kids:
And since I’m rarely in pics with the kids:
We all went to church together and even got there early so we could all sit on the front (or 2nd) row with Dad. Then we came home and took a few more pictures before diving in to the leftovers:
It was a wonderful day celebrating with family the resurrection of our Lord and Savior! He is Risen!
