So we headed to Jackson last weekend to see our new niece, and we decided it would be the perfect time to tell our big news since we'd be seeing all the family. So we arrived Friday night and showed my parents the scrapbook of pictures from our trip to Chicago last month. On the last page we put the ultrasound pictures with the caption "our little one," just in case they didn't get it right away (which they still didn't), and we said something like "... and here's a little souvenir from our trip." My mom just stared at it with her mouth open for a minute, then the light came on and she started squealing and hugging me. About a minute later, my dad was like, "You're pregnant! Why didn't you tell us?!!" And I was like, "I'm trying to tell you right now!"
(To protect certain family members from embarrassment, we'll refrain from posting the videos). So we ate dinner and then went over to my brother's to see the baby and tell them the news with the scrapbook like we did with my parents. And here's the priceless picture of their reaction when they got to the end (thanks, D & C!):
Then on Sunday we stopped by Birmingham on our way home to tell Chris' family. His sister had called us 30 minutes before we arrived to say that she had to work and wouldn't be there to see us! I tried to ask if she had to go and told her I really wanted to see her, but I didn't want to push it and make her suspect anything. So we told his parents and brother and decided to wait a couple of hours for her to get home so we could tell her in person. She came up the stairs and was like "What are y'all still doing here?" and I walked up to her and said, "We're having a baby!" And then the squealing and jumping began! She was SO excited!! We wish we had a picture or video of her reaction! Somebody can't wait to be an aunt...Then last night we told our small-group from church and there was more squealing and excitement and surprise! Hopefully we'll be able to tell the rest of our friends at church on Sunday, then our friends from high school & college, then the word will really be out! It's been so fun telling everyone and seeing their reactions - it was worth the wait!

I totally was histerical for about 4 hours. I was REALLY excited. Joy and I decided that I should have been videoed. After they left I called Joy back up, and then talked for about 1 and 1/2 hours! I was planning my wedding, like who was the flowergirl, ext. WE talked about EVERYTHING. Love y'all!!
