Our little Sweet Pea is now about 8 inches long and just over a pound in weight, about the size and shape of a small doll. This week marks the beginning of some serious weight gain (the baby's, that is). Her weight should double just in the next four weeks alone! Hopefully the same won't be true for mama!
Also, you should be able to hear her heartbeat through a standard stethoscope (too bad we don't have one). Her skin (still very thin) is reddish in color now because of the developing blood vessels underneath and hangs loosely from her body because the fat hasn't caught up yet. But it won't be long until she's pleasantly plump and filled out!
Mom and dad are doing well, just trying to get some things ready for a baby in about 4 months! It's exciting but a little scary to think about her coming that soon! Our first shower is in 2 months so we'll be registering in the next few weeks - should be fun but I know it will involve tough decisions!
