This week our little Caroline is about 9 inches long (crown to rump) and weighs almost 2 pounds! Her eyes, which have been closed for the past few months so that the retina could develop, are beginning to open although there's not much to see. Her iris, the colored part of the eye, still doesn't have much pigmentation, but it will fill in over the next month or two. Actually, since we both have blue eyes, I believe she will have blue eyes as well. We'll see!
Her brain-wave activity is also kicking in this week, so she can not only hear noises and see light, but she can now respond to them (with an increase in pulse rate or activity). And as much as she's been kicking & rolling around, I think she's already doing it!
