Monday: We went to work and spent the afternoon packing up to get ready to go to Auburn for Chris to work at the career fair on Tuesday night.
Tuesday: Caroline slept in really late and woke up with a cough and runny nose. We drove down to Auburn that morning and arrived around 1pm for Chris to help set up. I fed Caroline and tried to put her down for a nap, but she wasn't having it, so we went shopping. She was pretty miserable and didn't fall asleep in the car like I thought, so I only went to Target. She fell asleep on the way back to the hotel and woke up when we were getting out of the car. She didn't sleep anymore at the hotel that afternoon until 7 that night and was really fussy. Chris came back from the career fair soon after and we had to wake her up to go to dinner with his brother Will. Caroline coughed ALL night Tuesday night :( I knew something was up but she wasn't running a fever, so I figured it was just a bad cold.
Wednesday: Caroline was about the same, runny nose and coughing. We went to lunch and went to one store and headed home with a stop in Birmingham to see Chris' family for dinner. We got home around 9 that night and Caroline went right to bed and slept pretty well.
Thursday: Caroline slept really late again but seemed okay and still wasn't running a fever so I took her to work with me. That afternoon she felt really warm and had a temp of 102 and was pretty pitiful.
Friday: I called the doctor in the morning and they said to bring her in. So I stayed home from work with her and took her to the doctor that afternoon. I thought it was bad and it was: RSV and another double ear infection! I had heard horror stories about RSV from working with infants and I knew it could be really rough. Fortunately, Caroline's case wasn't too severe and she didn't have to be put on breathing treatments (or go to the hospital!), so I'm really thankful for that. I just feel so bad for her - she has just been laying around and sleeping a lot (which is good) and sometimes she'll cough a lot and then cry :( I just hate to see any baby in pain, but especially my own!
It was so cold in Auburn and with her being sick, we just didn't get to take any pictures while we were down there. But here's one of our little bundle of love (and sickness!) I took this morning (you can tell her little eyes are weak but she still managed a smile):
Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!
