A long week (or so)

Please forgive my long posting absence, but we've had a lot going on! My grandmother passed away last Thursday and ever since then, we've been running and going!! My parents and my sister and her hubby all came Saturday (in the storms) to spend the night before going up to Tennessee on Sunday for the funeral on Monday. We had fun visiting and encouraging each other even in the midst of this sad time for our family. But we are rejoicing that Gran Fran is with her Heavenly Father now and isn't suffering anymore. I think it helped to be together, especially with Caroline hamin' it up and making everyone laugh. She is really walking around a lot now and was giving lots of hugs and kisses. Sunday while everyone went up to make final arrangements in TN, the three of us took pictures around ADTRAN where Chris works. They had some green grass and pretty flowers (not to mention a lake) we thought would be good backdrops. Of course, Caroline didn't like the flowers or the grass, but she did okay in spite of it all. I even gave her a leaf to hold to get used to something in nature and she did well with that. Here she is with her leaf:







Chris and I drove up to Tennessee with Caroline Monday morning for the funeral (it was an early morning). Caroline did fairly well during the service, despite being tired. Chris was a big help and kept her in the side section so I could be with my family. Then he stayed in the car with her during the graveside service so she could get a nap before lunch. After lunch we headed home and took a few pictures outside before we got out of our nice clothes:
