First Birthday Bash

We had a BIG weekend full of celebrating babies and mamas! It all started Thursday afternoon when Caroline's teachers let me know of her fever and that she had to go home. My mom was on her way so I just went home and put her to bed! That night her fever rose to 103 degrees so we took her to the doctor the next morning. She had double ear infections, poor baby! We never seem to quite make it to our well visit with the doctor without having a sick visit the week before :( But at least it was something treatable and we got her started on the antibiotics right away so she could be feeling better before her big day! She stayed home with my mom so I could go to work - what a grandma to come just in time to help! And help she did!
The next morning we got ready for Chris' whole family to arrive from Birmingham. We watched Caroline play for a while then she went down for a nap while we grilled burgers for lunch. She got up and ate some and played some, then it was PARTY time! She got lots of cute gifts and enjoyed "smashing" her cake and even ate some of it. That night, Caroline had a delayed sugar rush and was up 'til 11:30!! We were so tired and so was she, but she just couldn't calm down. After a late night bath and some patting, she finally went to sleep. We did manage to make it to early church and came home and celebrated Mother's Day with a BIG lunch and more presents! Caroline was really tired by then, but she took a good nap and was all better!
