Loooong week

I'm so glad this week is over! It all started on Monday after work when I came down with a mysterious fever. I was fine that day, but noticed I was cold (I never get cold!) at work, but it was a bit cold in the room. I warmed up and started feeling bad when I got home. I put Caroline to bed and just laid in the bed and just felt terrible. I took my temp and it was 101.5 degrees, but I didn't have a sore throat or any nasal symptoms like the flu. I didn't really know what it was! So Chris took care of me and Caroline that night. I figured I'd have to call out of work in the morning, but I felt fine and had no fever, so I went on to work. I thought it might come back later, but it didn't. So I have no idea what it was, but I'm glad it didn't last long!

Caroline finished her antibiotic from her birthday ear infections on Monday, but Tuesday she was still fussy and not sleeping well or drinking well. So Wednesday morning I decided to take her back to the doctor to get her ears rechecked. She needed to get her shots anyway, if it wasn't her ears, so it wouldn't have been a wasted visit. Well, her ears were still infected so the doctor put her on another kind of antibiotics. She said if that didn't clear them up, we'd be referred to an ENT doctor. Her ears have always cleared up on this particular antibiotic, so I don't know why it didn't work this time. After the doctor we went to school/work and about an hour after we got there, Caroline's teachers came and got me and said she'd busted her lip! They thought it was bad, so we tried to stop the bleeding so we could see if it needed stitches or not. Once it stopped we could see that it wasn't as bad as it looked and we avoided a trip to the ER - wheew!

Thursday and Friday were a little more low-key, and I think Caroline is feeling better because today she slept in until 9:45!! I really needed the extra sleep so it was wonderful! We all needed the extra rest because today we had 2 events. First we had a birthday party for one of Caroline's friends from church. I wasn't sure how she'd do with a bunch of toddlers who were mostly closer to 2 years old. But she did really well and ate some snacks in my lap and walked around most of the time and watched the big kids. Then we headed over to the state park in town and met up with some folks from our Sunday school class. Some brought kids, others brought their dogs, but we had a good time visiting and playing games and enjoying
the nice weather. Hopefully next week will be a little less hectic. Here's a pic of the kiddos (thanks, Lauren!):

I'm sure mom has told you 1000 times, but I recommend taking Caroline to a chiropractor. It may be coincidence but two different times Aubrey had back to back ear infections that the antibiotics didn't clear up but we took her to the chiropractor and she didn't get another one for several months.
