Wedding Weekend #2

After a few days of work and unpacking and repacking, we were off to another family wedding! This time it was Chris' dad's niece getting married in Atlanta. At least we could drive! We left Friday morning and made it to downtown Atlanta early that afternoon to pick up Chris' graduation gown and regalia at the Georgia Tech bookstore. The weather was lovely, so we decided to walk A MILE (with a toddler in a stroller) to the World of Coke museum. Well, the sun came out about half way there, and the line was WAY out the door, so we decided to just get some drinks and head on to the hotel. So Chris walked all the way back to the car while I watched Caroline chase pigeons at Pemberton Place. He picked us up and we headed to our hotel. Well the traffic was really bad and it took us so long to get there, we just decided to head straight to the church for the rehearsal dinner. It was a good thing we did because we got lost when our phone battery (also our GPS and directions) died. We were thankful for Chick-fil-a and free Wi-fi and a working iPad! We finally found our way just in time for the dinner. It was at the pavilion at Perimeter Church where they had burgers and hot dogs and all the fixin's. They also had a large pool area complete with fountains and a wading/kiddie pool area. We thought Caroline might like to walk around in the pool after dinner so we all got changed and headed in. Well she HATED it and cried and held her feet up and was just grumpy in general. It was her first time at a big pool and I think she was tired from the day of traveling, so that didn't help. Oh well! I know it'll just take some time and she'll LOVE being at the pool, so we'll just keep trying. Here she is looking none too pleased with our attempts at distracting her with water toys:

She slept great that night and the next morning we ate breakfast at McDonald's and headed to the wedding. We just let Caroline run around outside for a while and then inside until the wedding started, since we knew she wouldn't sit still during the ceremony. She sat in my lap in the back for maybe 15 minutes, just long en
ough for me to see the bride walk in and most of the sermon and vows. Then we wised up and got the stroller out of the car for the reception and she went right to sleep before I could get her some food. She slept for 30 minutes or so, then I fed her and she was off running around again. We took a bunch of pictures and then headed out to Chris' aunt & uncle's house to visit with them and his grandfather a little more. Then we drove home, exhausted from another weekend away! I'm so glad to get back and have Sunday and Monday to rest before work on Tuesday!
