Check-up

Today was Caroline's 15-month check-up and here are her stats: 22 lbs, 4 ounces (45th percentile), 31.5 inches (80th!), and 47.25cm (head). The doctor said she was looking good, but did have a slight ear infection in her right ear, so she prescribed some antibiotics. She also had to get her MMR and varicella (chicken pox) vaccines today. I warned the nurse that she might hold her breath, but she hadn't done it since her last shots, so I was kind of hoping she had outgrown it. Well, she cried but she did great and didn't hold her breath at all!! Whoo-hoo!!
Also in the course of questions and answers, I mentioned Caroline had been having some loose BM's (to put it nicely) for a few weeks, but off-and-on and not every day, so I just figured it was from teething. She asked me some more questions about it and then decided to test her stool, just to be sure nothing else was going on. You have to collect it at home from her diaper so I did it tonight. I'll spare you the details but let me tell you - NOT fun! But I am glad to know my doctor is thorough and we'll know if it's anything more serious.

In other not-so-pleasant news, Chris has succumbed to the germies and come down with the stomach bug! Poor guy, we thought sure he had missed it, but he came home early not feeling well today. At least he has it now and will be feeling better by the weekend.
