On the Road Again

We packed up and headed over to Jackson this weekend to see my new nephew Jude! We decided to leave Thursday after work and take Friday off so we could have an extra day to see everyone. Caroline did great in the car and went to sleep at her usual time and then we transferred her to her bed once we got there. Then Friday morning we went to my brother's to see the new baby. He is so tiny and cute! It was so fun to get to hold a newborn again! Caroline had fun playing with her cousin Aubrey and didn't care too much about the real baby as long as she had her own baby doll. Then we ate lunch with them and headed home to put Caroline down for a nap - she was so worn out she slept 3 hours! Then we had my brother and his family over for dinner at my parents' house and the girls played more afterwards. We had so much fun just watching them play and talking! We took a bunch of pictures, of course, but it was hard to get a good one of all the cousins!

Then Saturday we hung out at my parents' house and had some friends over to visit. Some were friends of my mom, but one was a good friend of mine who has a little boy a few months older than Caroline. She came right before Caroline's nap, so Caroline was a little cranky and didn't want to share her toys, but it was fun to visit with everyone. Caroline took another 3 hour nap and my mom stayed home with her while Chris, my sister, her hubby and I went shopping. It was BLAZING hot so I was glad to not have Caroline getting in and out of a hot carseat. When she woke up we went to meet my brother and the fam at Outback for dinner. We had a good time with them and came home and played a little, then went to bed.

Sunday we woke up early to get on the road so that we could meet our small group at the lake. Caroline did well on the road again and took a good nap before we arrived. It was really hot, but we managed to get out in the boat with Caroline for the first time. She wasn't too keen on wearing the life jacket or riding in the boat, but she did okay. She just kind of whimpered and whined off and on, but eventually she got used to it. She went back to sleep on the ride home - we were ALL exhausted from a long weekend of traveling!
