4 people in 400 square feet!

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any more crazy, they did! Our air went out AGAIN on Saturday (the 16th), only 2 weeks after getting it fixed. So we had to call the A/C people after hours to get them to put in more Freon. Well, that lasted only 3 days, then it was out again on Tuesday so we decided to have the coils replaced to fix the leak. The A/C people needed to submit paperwork to see if our 5-year warranty would cover the coil and they said it would probably be Friday before they could fix it! We knew we couldn’t live downstairs without any A/C in this heat for that long, so we decided to stay upstairs which is on a separate unit that was still working. Chris moved the TV and the pack-n-play and some toys upstairs and we were set! Caroline has had fun being somewhere different and has even enjoyed sleeping on a cushion on the floor in the bathroom! It is nice in some ways to have everything in one room, but I wouldn’t want to live like that forever! We even eat dinner upstairs because it’s so hot in the kitchen, especially if I’ve been cooking. I just try to make something quick and bring it all upstairs on a tray. We even have Caroline’s high chair upstairs and she eats in the bathroom so it’s not a mess on the carpet.

Chris gets to cool off at work, but I try to get out of the house with the kids at least once during the day for a change of scenery and to get some of Caroline’s energy out! We went to a friend’s house in Athens on Wednesday to hang out and swim and cool off. We had fun, but when it was time to leave my car wouldn’t start! The battery had died and Chris had to drive all the way out there to help me! It was more than I could handle being so hot and needing to get home and then having the car die on me – I had to just sit down and cry!! My friends were so sweet and let us hang out and stay cool until I could feed Luke and take Chris’ car back home. Then Friday we found out that the coil would be covered under the warranty, but they couldn’t come to fix it until Tuesday!! So we’ll be stuck upstairs until then! It’s been one crazy week!!
