4th of July weekend

We had a low-key holiday weekend with Chris’ family. They arrived Saturday in time for lunch. Then most of us took a nap and then hung out until we went out for dinner. Then Sunday we went to early church and then came home and grilled out burgers and corn for lunch. Then it was time for more naps and a lite dinner and movie-watching. Like I said, it was a low-key weekend, but it was great! We did manage to get some pictures after church on Sunday:

Then on Monday, we just hung out that morning and then the Hodges had to leave after lunch. Here are the Hodges girls with Luke:

We all took naps (well, it took Caroline FOREVER to fall asleep, but she finally did get a short nap) after they left. I had Luke dressed in a little 4th of July onesie that Caroline had worn 2 years ago and I took some pictures of him in it before the camera battery died. Then he had a blowout in it before I could take some better ones – oh well!

Even though it was going to be way after her bedtime, we decided to take Caroline to see the fireworks again this year. She really enjoyed seeing them and talked about them the entire show! Luke was awake the whole time, but he couldn’t really see them from his carseat. Then Caroline couldn’t understand why they were over and “all gone” and almost had a melt down, but we managed to get home and get everyone to bed before it got too bad!

Here are the kids together after an outfit change, ready to go see the fireworks:
