And he LOVED Orville the flying pig! He just giggled when I brought him over to see it, then he went back by himself:
Caroline had a blast in her class and enjoyed playing on the playground and music time with Mrs. Karla. They brought home some cute crafts and pics:
My little helper helped me make cookies for our guests on Friday – I’m no good at cookie icing/decorating, but the taste made up for it! They were homemade sugar cookies with almond-flavored icing; I got the recipe from a friend’s blog here.
Then we had swimming lessons for Caroline on Saturday. She’s about half-way through and is doing much better. At the beginning, she was pretty scared to put her face in the water or let go of Chris, but she’s gaining confidence. Here’s Chris and the kids in the kiddie pool afterwards:
After swimming, we went to a birthday party at Jump Zone for one of Caroline’s friends from school. The kids had a great time in the giant inflatables and were worn out! We came home for lunch and then Chris’ family arrived to visit for Father’s Day. The kids took naps and then we went out to eat at Macaroni Grill – YUM!! Then Sunday after church we made a big lunch of pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, asparagus and spinach salad. And cookie cake to celebrate our terrific dads!
Someone was too silly for the family pic – oh well!
Happy Father’s Day to all our Daddies!! Thanks for ALL you do and for pointing us to our Heavenly Father!
