Hello, Strangers!

Sorry it’s been awhile – so much has happened in the last couple of weeks! Let me back up to Luke’s appointment with the allergist/immunologist that was moved to last Friday, the 10th. I took Caroline over to a friends’ house to play while I took Luke since siblings aren’t allowed and Chris had a meeting at work. We had to wait a little while and Luke got bored and was running around and trying to push the door open to go outside! Then when we finally got called back, he kept trying to run out of the room and down the hall. I finally shut the door and hoped they wouldn’t forget about us! Anyway, the doctor finally came in and asked me all about his sicknesses and symptoms and I showed him that Luke’s feet were still peeling and I was worried he might still have strep and that the antibiotics may not have gotten rid of it completely. He ordered a bunch of blood work, including a strep test, milk allergy test, CBC, and a few immune tests. The hard part was that they don’t have a lab a their office so I had to take him down the way to the hospital lab and wait some more just to have his blood drawn! Plus it was lunch time and approaching nap time, but I put him in the stroller and fed him a snack and he did pretty well! By the time we were done and picked up Caroline and got home, everyone was worn out! They had told me that it could take a while to get the results back from the blood work because some of the tests had to be done at Mayo Clinic. However, when I got home and told Luke’s pediatrician about his feet and the blood tests, she said to call them back next week and just ask for the strep results so we would know if he needed more meds for that. SO, I called on Wednesday and they finally called me back and said that the strep test came back negative! I was relieved but still concerned about his bottom and feet. But the next day they started looking better and the allergist’s office called me back with the other results saying that they had already come back and were all negative or in the normal range! So PRAISE THE LORD with us that he doesn’t have any immune issues!!

That weekend, on Sunday the 12th, was our 6th wedding anniversary!! Remember when…

We had planned to try to go to a movie and dinner the day before, but couldn’t get our regular babysitter and then realized our air was starting to go out again. So we didn’t want anyone to have to come and suffer in the heat! It was a beautiful day outside so we decided to go to Bridge Street and walk around the lake and ride the carousel. Then we ate lunch and sat outside enjoying the coolish breeze and the lake views. It was a lot of fun just being together!

Then that night after an early dinner, we went to where Chris works to walk around the lake there and the kids had fun walking and running around.

Silly girl and her stick!

Then on Sunday, Chris went out during nap time and brought me some beautiful roses and a cookie cake! YUM!

I can’t believe it’s been 6 years already! And now we’ve had kids longer than it’s just been the 2 of us – crazy! I have the best hubby and baby daddy a girl could ask for and am so thankful God brought us together almost 9 years ago! Love you, Sweetheart!!
