School Days!

Hello blogging world! A little update from Hodges land!

We’ve had trouble with our air conditioner again and it turns out it is indeed a leak in the evaporator coils due to corrosion from the Chinese drywall. We got another refill of Freon and are hoping to make it until we move out! Until then, we’ve cranked up the temp to 79 degrees to keep it from running and leaking as much. It’s been quite an adjustment, but we’ll do whatever it takes to make this coil last a little longer! We’re planning a beach vacation in a couple of weeks to get us out of the heat, and then it won’t be much longer until we move (hopefully!).

In other news, Caroline finally started school this week!! I love my little girl, but it’s been a long summer! I think we both enjoy the structure and routine of the school year. She has loved her new class and teachers Ms. Wendy and Ms. Vicki so far, although I think she’s still in her quiet stage and hasn’t warmed up to them yet. She was such a big girl going in to her new class for the first time – didn’t cry or even look back to tell me “bye”!

She’s in the bigger of the two 3-year-old classes which has about 18 kids and 2 teachers. She’s actually in the “older threes” class even though she’s just turned three, but I think it’s because she’s smart! ;) I just hope she’ll do well, despite having so many kids in one room! It is sort of like 2 rooms, so I think they probably divide them up for circle time and other activities. She loves school!!

We also had the special treat this week of a visit from DeeDee and Grandaddy! They were planning to come later next month while Chris was out of town for work, but he ended up not needing to go, so they came on early. We had a great time and it was nice to go run errands with just Luke and someone to help! My mom also helped me tag and hang a bunch of clothes to take to consignment in a couple of weeks. The kids had a blast playing with my parents and Chris and I even got to go on a date night :).

We also went to my aunt Evelyn’s house to visit with her and some of my cousins. We had fun meeting my “new” little cousin Allie and seeing her mom and aunt. The kids got a little crazy, but we ended up just getting lunch and eating it there.
