Moving and Sickness

I’m so behind on blogging I don’t even know where to start! Well, we moved.

It wasn’t as bad as I had feared, but I’m still missing a few things, ha! Chris’ parents were a huge help and watched the kids while we packed the last few things and made a few trips back and forth between houses. (And his dad helped disassemble and pack/load too!). We are SO thankful for them!

We’re getting settled in our rental house and I think it’s going to work out great! We have a little more room so that’s nice ;). Here are a few pics but I plan to take more once I get more boxes unpacked or put away:

My parents arrived a few days later to help on the other end – unpacking. Unfortunately, Luke got a bad cold and cough the day we moved and he ended up having RSV and his first ear infection. Poor guy wasn’t his usual, happy self, but I was glad to have my parents here to help and keep him home out of this cold weather!

Last Saturday we said goodbye to our old house, and on Tuesday the craziness began! A POD and a dumpster were brought in and the demolition started.

We had a little drama with our washer and dryer. We had to leave them behind so that the contractor could examine them for corrosion. So that meant I had to do laundry at an empty house for a week and a half – no fun! Then when they looked at them, they said they were fine so then we had to figure out how to move them to the rental. We ended up getting the movers we had used for the other stuff to pick them up and bring them to us. Only problem was there were some missing parts :(. So I had to go to Wal-Mart twice to get everything working again! And I’m still missing a piece – I’m hoping it’s in the POD!

I’m SO looking forward to a weekend away with our small group girls! Chris will be with the kids by himself for the first time!! Wish him luck, ha! I know he’ll do great, it’s really only for a day and a half but I really need it after the last couple of weeks!
