Mother’s Day weekend

One of my best friends is expecting her second baby in a couple of months and didn’t want to have a shower or sprinkle, but instead wanted a girls’ night away. Well I was happy to oblige! Five of us headed down to Birmingham on Friday night and we ate dinner at the Cheesecake Factory on arrival.

It was crowded but fortunately we didn’t have to wait long. Our waiter was good and friendly, but it turns out a little too friendly! He wouldn’t leave us alone to talk and kept joining in on our conversation. But we had fun anyway and walk around The Summit a little after dinner. We went in to Aveda and the lady there gave Jenny a complimentary hand massage!

We headed to the hotel when all the stores closed and got checked in and settled in our rooms. Then we went downstairs to the Westin’s Pub and enjoyed some drinks and dessert, despite the lively crowd of men having a little too much to drink…
We stayed up waaay too late talking, but it was so much fun hanging out with these ladies! The next morning we took our time waking up & getting ready before heading to Panera for breakfast and then on to the Venetian for pedicures! It was SO relaxing except for when they tickled me with the pumice stone ;).

After our pedicures dried, we split up and some of us went shopping and others went to a movie. I went with the shopping girls and found a cute purse and a top and had a nice time looking around. We ate lunch at Tavern on the Summit, then met up with the other girls when the movie ended and sat with them while they ate at Zoe’s. Then we headed home and I got back just in time to eat dinner with Chris and the kids. It was the best Mother’s Day present EVER!!
Then on the actual day, we all went to church and ate at Wendy’s with Jenny & fam afterwards. It was fun and we avoided all the holiday crowds! When we got home, we took a few pics and then I crashed!
I’m so thankful for these two little monkeys who call me mother!
