We started the month with Huntsville’s first annual Mardi Gras Parade! The kids didn’t really know what to expect but they ended up loving the beads and candy being passed out!
Then there was dressing like twins:
And dressing up:
Luke’s first taste of ice cream (sherbet):
Kite festival:
Lots of playing outside, climbing trees, swinging:
And cold or rainy days playing inside:
Mid-month we went to our second parade, the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The kids were expecting lots more beads and candy from this one after being at the Mardi Gras one, but were a little disappointed! They still had fun though. We were sure to bring ear plugs this time, ha!
Then Frozen came out on DVD and we pre-ordered it to make sure we got a copy! We had movie night complete with popcorn and anywhere chairs :).
This girl started soccer and she did great! She was SO excited to play!
The week before Spring Break, I got strep! I haven’t been that sick in ages and it really wiped me out! But after a shot and some antibiotics, I was feeling better in a few days. The kids had had fevers the week before, then broke out in a rash so I thought they had Roseola. But after I got sick I wondered if it was really Scarlet Fever (strep with a rash)!
Then came Spring Break! The kids and I kept busy at the depot, Botanical Gardens, and various playgrounds, but it was cold and rainy a lot of the time. We even had snow flurries! Didn’t feel like Spring at all!
More firsts included Luke trying new things like my fried calamari (he thought it was french fries) and fried chicken:
And Luke’s first carousel ride:
