Between the cold and snow days, we did have a few nice days to get out and about. One weekend, Burritt on the Mountain was having a free admission day so we decided to see if it would be something the kids would enjoy. They did but it was FREEZING!! Literally, and the kids were running around all wild and crazy, probably to keep warm! We did get to tour Dr. Burritt’s Mansion, which was neat.
Well the next day we went to church as usual and went out to eat with some friends. We hadn’t done that in forever and it was fun. We got home and none of the kids napped, then we got ready to go to small group. As we were pulling in to Publix to pick up some dessert to bring, Luke started throwing up! Poor guy was so upset, then Caroline started crying too! So we just turned around and came back home. Thankfully, he was fine the rest of the night and the next morning. But, since he couldn’t go to school, we dropped Caroline off and I took him to the Mall so I could stroll him around since it was so cold outside. After our walk I let him play on the quarter vehicles – he loved them just as they were, motionless!
I figured it would be a good time to get his haircut while I didn’t have Caroline so we did that too. Here’s the before and after.
A couple of days later, the weather warmed up a good bit so we could finally play outside!! The kids were excited to get their short sleeves on and had fun goofing around in the back yard.
The next Friday was cold again so we hit up our local children’s museum for some fun. Luke loved lowering and raising the “onceler bucket” and they were cute posing on the cow:
We had been talking about signing Caroline up for soccer this Spring and finally got around to it! I’m excited about our neighbor friend being on her team. It’s going to be hilarious to watch a bunch of 4- and 5-year-olds chasing the ball! Chris also took advantage of the nice weather to clean out the gutters and replace the gutter guards that came with the house.
Caroline “Cinderella”:
One nice weekend we took the kids to the Botanical Gardens. They had a blast playing in the water and sand.
Well, that about sums up the rest of the month. Stay tuned for March happenings!
