We had a great time with Chris’ family for the long weekend. They came up Saturday afternoon and we went out to Connor’s Steakhouse for Gigi’s birthday dinner. Caroline is getting to a difficult stage now and doesn’t do well when we go out to eat. She scarfed down the food I brought for her long before we got the rest of our food, then she wanted to get down and run around. Chris’ sister had to walk her around some until we got our food, then she wouldn’t eat any of it. So Gigi had to walk around with her while we ate. It was pretty miserable, but we managed to have a decent time. Then it was time to go home for some cake! I had found a recipe on an almond cake filling can and decided to try it since it was Gigi’s favorite. It turned out pretty well! (Somehow we didn’t get any pictures!) After cake we stayed up and watched SEC football – WAR EAGLE!!!
We went to early church on Sunday then came home for a taco lunch so Chris’ sister and mom could go on to Nashville. His dad stayed on with us until Tuesday and we had a restful time on our day off on Monday. We took a bunch of pictures, of course:
