Here are Luke’s stats from the doctor today: 26 3/4 inches long (95th percentile!) and 15 pounds, 13 ounces (75th percentile). So he’s still big and tall! The doctor said he looked great and gave the okay for starting solids (which we’ve already done a little). He got 3 shots and an oral vaccine and did much better than last time! He didn’t even cry until after the second shot and even then he stopped when I picked him up. It was time for him to eat so I nursed him before we left and he fell asleep. He woke up when I put him in the car, but he’s taking a good nap so far this afternoon.
Here’s our big boy trying cereal for the first time last week:
He wasn’t so sure about it at first, but he loved it! He ended up eating the whole bowl (it was just a tablespoon of cereal with an ounce of milk). And he’s done pretty well with it since so I’m going to try oatmeal next.
Luke has been really interested in toys lately and reaching and grabbing things. One of his favorites is the monkey mat (which was Caroline’s):
Tummy time!
Then I got him a Jumperoo at Kids’ Market and he LOVES it! He’ll jump in it for a long time while I’m cooking or we’re eating dinner. Caroline likes to “help”:
Luke also loves taking a bath. Here he is at 4 months and Caroline at 4 months:
I think they’re starting to look more alike! Only he has more rolls and less hair :).
Caroline has always loved her baby, but she’s been carrying it around with her everywhere lately, even outside! She loves to give her baby a bottle or put her in Luke’s bouncy seat or jumper. She’s such a little mama!
