7 Months, a New Year, and more sickness!

(Warning: I’ve just done 4 posts in the last 2 days so keep reading if you haven’t checked in a while!)

Happy New Year!! Our little man is 7 months old! The big things of the past month have been sickness, allergies, and getting up on all fours! It was definitely a little harder to get his monthly pictures because he’s so active.

Mostly they turned out like this:

But I managed to get a couple like this:

Luke’s schedule has been really off the past few weeks between traveling and being sick! I don’t even know what his schedule is anymore! He seems to nurse less at a time and more frequently since he’s been sick. I’ve been trying to give him a bottle after nursing at night to make sure he’s getting enough, but sometimes he wakes up at night to nurse anyway! Maybe it’s the cold, maybe he’s growing!

Speaking of growing, he weighs about 18 pounds and is still wearing some 9 month clothes, but a lot of 12 month clothes now. He wears a size 3 shoe (he got some for Christmas) and a size 2 diaper, but maybe not for much longer! He is VERY close to crawling and gets up on all-fours and rocks back and forth. I hope he’ll hold off on crawling a little longer, but I have a feeling it will be in the next month.

We’ve definitely had our share of colds the past few months – it seems like we just keep passing it around to each other and back again! Luke has had several colds and most of the time doesn’t run a fever, but Christmas Eve night he was really congested. He had trouble sleeping and was even up in the night, which hasn’t happened in a LONG time! Then on Wednesday night he started running a high fever (103.4 degrees) and was just pitiful! When we got back from Jackson on Thursday, he still had a little fever and I took him to the doctor first thing Friday morning. They tested him for RSV, Strep, and the flu, but they all came back negative (thankfully!). His blood work did show that he had a virus, so the doctor said just let her know if it got any worse. She also said that they would do an allergy test at his 9 month appointment in March. His fever seemed better Friday and Saturday, but he was up again in the night. Then today he started running a fever again!

Just when I thought I had escaped the sickness, I started feeling nauseous on Saturday. I felt pretty bad by the afternoon and that evening was also running fever (101.5). We managed to have a pretty low-key New Year’s Eve and just watched the Auburn bowl game and went to bed early. I never did throw up but continued to be nauseous all yesterday. I’ve been better today, but just really weak and tired from not eating much and being up in the night with Luke! Hopefully it won’t make its way to Caroline as she finally starts back to school tomorrow.
