So… my birthday was last weekend and so much has happened since then, I don’t even know where to start! I had a birthday dinner with 3 of my besties the night before and we had a blast! It was so nice to be able to have adult conversations without kiddos and without being rushed! Thanks to all the hubbies for keeping the kids for us :) (and to Jenny for the pic!):
That afternoon Caroline had woken up from her nap crying (which is unusual for her) and she ended up having a fever. She seemed okay otherwise so Chris told me to go ahead and go to dinner. Then she was fine the next day (my actual birthday), so we figured it was just a fever virus or something and planned to get a babysitter and go out together. We left a little early for dinner and went to go look at minivans again, this time at the Nissan Quest. Not the best experience, but not the worst! We like the look of the inside of the quest, but it was not as functional and roomy as the Odyssey. I had really wanted to eat at Carrabba’s but there was a 2 hour wait, so we decided to try a nice restaurant downtown with no wait. It was really good and we enjoyed eating in peace! Then we went and picked up my birthday cake and came home and ate it! Caroline was still awake so we let her have a little too! Chris had given me a new flash for our camera so we took a few pics:
Then we received the sad news that Chris’ grandfather had passed away that evening. The funeral was scheduled to be the next Saturday, so we made plans to go to North Carolina for the weekend. We had just been there for Thanksgiving and then another long trip with both kids for Christmas, so we really didn’t want to take both of them this time. Since I’m still nursing, we decided to just take Luke and leave Caroline at home with my parents. They were so sweet to offer to make the long trip themselves to help us out!
