We’ve had many rough days since my last post! I feel like I’ve been in a valley, but now I’m seeing the light! Luke has been up in the night a lot, but at least I haven’t had to nurse him. He’s just been waking himself up coughing and then can’t breathe out of his nose when he puts his paci back in. So I have to get him up and suction his nose and let him cry a while and suction it again and then he’ll finally go back to sleep (all this over an hour or hour and a half!). I ended up taking him to the doctor again last Monday because it had been over a week and his cough wasn’t getting better. The doctor said he was just SO mucous-y but not wheezing and was really surprised he didn’t have an ear infection with all that mucous! I was SO thankful – maybe he’ll have good ears like his daddy and not like his mom and sister! She did give us an antibiotic to clear up the mucous and help with the cough, so I hope he’ll be better soon! If not, his 9-month check-up is next week so the doctor can check him out again. He does seem to be doing a little better, but he’s still congested and coughing a little. Today was the first Monday in a MONTH that we weren’t at the kids’ doctor! We were actually able to take a walk and enjoy being outside in the nice weather!
Chris’ birthday was last Friday and we ate dinner here then went out for ice cream afterwards. Then his parents came to visit Saturday and the kids had fun playing with them. We got a babysitter that night and went out to dinner with them and his brother to celebrate Chris and his dad’s birthdays. Then Sunday we all went to church and came home and ate lunch here, followed by some yummy cookie cake:
Then that afternoon, Chris and I went to a meeting at church while his parents kept the kids. It was so nice to have all that help this weekend and we’re so thankful for them! I’m sure they’re worn out and ready to be empty-nesters again – ha!
