I’m sure you’re tired of reading this, but sickness strikes again! We had just finished Caroline’s antibiotics last week and on Sunday she started running a fever (around 102 degrees) after church. I took her to the doctor yesterday since she had been so sick with bronchitis and wanted to make sure she wasn’t relapsing. The doctor said her chest sounded good and her ears looked okay. Her throat was a little red, but she didn’t have the flu or strep and her blood work came back normal. “Must just be a virus” (if I had a nickel for every time I heard that lately…). Luke has been congested for over a week with just a low-grade fever, but I was concerned about his ears since he hasn’t been eating or sleeping well. So the doctor was kind enough to do a quick check on him and said he looked and sounded fine. Whew! Guess it’s just his teeth bothering him.
Caroline’s fever seemed better that afternoon but she woke up in the night with a temp of 104! So no school today and it’s been around 101, so she’ll have to miss again tomorrow :(. I just want my babies to be well!! And sleep would be nice too!
In other news, BIG news… we bought a minivan last weekend! Chris has been researching for months (ever since our road trips with 2 kids started) and got a good deal on a new Honda Odyssey. We’ve already been enjoying the extra room and the power doors :)
Here’s Caroline in the new ride (Luke is back there too):
We decided to go with the EX-L trim package, which is the middle level of packages and has a big screen on the dash and leather, but no navigation or rear entertainment system. It also has bluetooth so I can talk on the phone hands-free. It'll be so nice to have extra seats for when family visits or we need to take friends around. Not to mention the extra cargo room for road trips!
We’ll be selling Chris’ Malibu (hopefully by private sale) and he’ll drive my Highlander. That way, we’ll still have room for kids in his car if we need it. Speaking of Chris, he’s in Auburn tonight recruiting at the Career Fair, so I’ve been winging here with the kiddos today. Thankfully, he’ll be back tomorrow after work!

Aw! Sorry you guys have been so sick!! Love the new van. I can't wait to ride in it instead of getting super cozy with the kiddos in the back of the Highlander. Oh, good times.
