Well, I survived my 28 week appointment in spite of getting stuck, poked, and shot! I drank my glucose drink this morning instead of breakfast and it really wasn't bad. It just tasted like flat orange soda. Then when I got to the doctor's office, they pricked my finger to check my glucose level as well as my iron. When the nurse came back a few minutes later with the results, she said my sugar levels were fine (about 124 I think), but my iron was really low (8.9 instead of normal 10.5) and it had been 12 something when I first got pregnant. So that was a big drop. The doctor said if I were to have the baby at this point with that low iron level, I may have to have a blood transfusion! So she prescribed me some iron pills and said to eat broccoli and/or red meat at least 4 times a week - I said I could handle that! She said she'd check it again at my next appointment which I'll start having every 2 weeks now! They also gave me my second RhoGAM shot in my bum :(
We also got to hear Caroline's heartbeat again (it was in the 140s) and the doctor measured me and said I was measuring 29 weeks (I'm about 28 1/2) so I was right on target. The Dr. asked if she'd been moving around good and we said, "Yeah, maybe too good!"
On a different note, I had another interesting encounter at the store today. This woman came up and was like, "Excuse me, ma'am" and I turned around and figured it was someone asking me if I know where something is (I get asked that a lot). Instead she said "How many months along are you?" And I told her 6 1/2 and she was like, "Oh, I'm just 3 months and not showing yet. Did it take you awhile to start showing?" So I told her I wasn't showing at 3 months either and that just in the last month or so, people actually started noticing/commenting that I was pregnant. So then she was like, "Oh, okay" and I told her congrats and all that stuff and that was it. Interesting.

I can't believe you're already going every 2 weeks! Time really does fly. Yay for passing your glucose test, but I'm sorry your iron was so low.
That's hilarious about the woman asking how far along you are. She must have been pretty worried about not showing to ask a complete stranger!
