At 28 weeks, I'm finally in my third trimester - the home stretch! Caroline is now almost 17 inches tall (almost as tall as she'll be at birth) and close to 3 pounds! Her wrinkled skin is smoothing out more as fat is deposited under the surface. This type of fat is like the fat adults have that serves as an energy source, rather than the fat necessary for regulating body temperature. Which explains why I'm feeling this "energized bunny" of a baby! The kicks and jabs are more vigorous than before because she is stronger and excitedly responding to all sorts of stimuli. And I think I feel almost every move she makes! She's SO active, we're a little worried she won't be much of a sleeper once she's born :/
I'm definitely feeling pregnant these days: back aches, fatigue, growing belly, difficulty bending over, etc. But it's all a small price to pay to grow our little Sweet Pea a few months longer! And I know it's only going to get harder as I get bigger, but I'm thankful everything is okay. We begin childbirth classes tonight (that should be interesting) and my next appointment is on Wednesday and I'll have my glucose test and get another RhoGAM shot. So I'll keep you updated on all of that!
In nursery news, I called the store where I ordered the crib AGAIN and finally talked to someone who wasn't just nice but actually helped! She called the company for me and called me back right away and said that it finally got on a truck and should be here at the end of the month. She asked me when I was due and said she was thinking about ordering me a "loner crib" if it was soon, but I told her I had plenty of time. I just wanted to know! So hopefully I'll be able to put it together a couple of weeks from now and have pictures for you :)
Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day!
