31 weeks

This week Caroline is getting close to 4 pounds! While she is still getting nourishment through the umbilical cord, her digestive system is all set and ready to go. And because she is accumulating more fat, her skin is finally turning opaque (like ours), and she's looking more like a newborn. Not too much else going on, just getting a little more cramped as she grows bigger and bigger.

We went to our last in-class childbirth class tonight. Next week we take off for Spring Break, then the following week we'll have a tour of the hospital. Tonight we talked about postpartum physical and emotional symptoms and how your hormones go crazy and you get all weepy and about the baby blues. Then we watched another funny video, this one from the '80s about postpartum stuff and bringing baby home and how things are very different, stressful, etc. It was hilarious but also very informative. We know life will be VERY different having a baby in the house, but we'll just have to take one day at a time!

No word on the crib yet, but I'll give them a couple more days... hopefully we'll have it by the weekend!
