At 30 weeks, I've just got 10 to go (more or less)! Caroline is over 3 pounds now and measures 18 inches. Her brain is working overtime these days, developing faster than ever. Connections between individual nerve cells are growing, and she can now perceive info from all five senses. So what's she doing all day? Probably making faces, hiccuping (we felt her for the first time Saturday night), swallowing, breathing, turning and punching (!), and maybe even sucking her thumb.
Tonight we had our 3rd childbirth class and we talked about C-sections and what to expect if you end up having one. The pictures on the slides she used were of my Doctor when she gave birth to her own child - pretty cool! Next we watched a video of a birth with an epidural (this one was a little graphic) and then one that labored for awhile and then had a C-section (not too bad). And finally we talked about the characteristics of newborns and how to expect them to look and behave. No breathing exercises this week, so we got done a little early.
I'll see my doctor again on Wednesday, so hopefully my iron levels will be up from 2 weeks ago. Also, I called about my crib today since it was supposed to be in last week. They said they had just talked to the crib company and they had been delayed by the 12 inches of snow they got this weekend! But it was on the way and should be in on Friday or early next week (which probably means next week). So I probably won't get it before the family comes up for my first shower this weekend, but oh well! I've got our bird Butter moved into his new room across the hall so I can touch up the paint and get everything ready for the crib whenever it comes.

Stories from this weekend:
I was playing a punching game with Caroline. I would tap and then she would tap back, and as I moved she would too! After having so much fun, she got the hiccups!
Then I was laying on Joy's belly and Caroline kept kicking my head.
We had a blast! Can't wait until she is here!
