We're finally back from all our travels! I'm so glad to be home for awhile so we can enjoy our last few weeks of just the two of us :) Chris was so sweet and drove ALL the way to Jackson and back and had a brilliant idea of how to keep my feet up so they wouldn't swell from all the sitting. I sat in the back seat and we put the front seat all the way forward and leaned it all the way back.
Here I am riding in style:

We had a third wonderful shower on Saturday! I'm really excited about ALL of Caroline's gifts and have had fun putting them in her room & getting it all set up. Still no word on the crib, but I hope it's made it to the USA. Now to just get it to Alabama...
Here are some pictures from the shower at my parents' house:
The traditional hostess picture: Mrs. Lipscomb, me, my mom, Carrie (sister-in-law), Sarah (sister)

Here I am with my niece Aubrey: soon-to-be Caroline's cousin & playmate :)

Here's the food table (you may recognize the diaper cake) and the room with the gifts and baby clothes hung on the line:

This was one of my favorite gifts, something I had been wanting for the nursery, but wasn't sure how to get it or what to put on it - the verse and colors are PERFECT:

And finally, the loot we took back with us:

Check for more pictures soon on
our picasa site.At 35 weeks, Caroline weighs more than 5 pounds, getting close to 6! Her bones and cartilage are still soft and her skull bones aren't fused together yet so she can maneuver easily (hopefully) through the birth canal. Her growth will start to slow down as well so she can store up the all the energy needed for delivery. Most of her body systems are pretty mature now: her blood circulation and immune system are working well. But her digestive system still needs some work - she has relied on the umbilical cord for nutrition so it'll take her the first year or so to bring that system up to speed.
No doctor's appointment this week, but I'll start going every week next week.
