I’m sooo behind on blogging, but here’s one about last week! I had my 12 week OB appointment on Tuesday and got to hear the baby’s heartbeat – it was in the 160s. The nurse had a little trouble finding it, but she did and then she had my doctor confirm it. I didn’t mind hearing that sweet sound again! Then I had to have my blood drawn to check my thyroid levels since they were a little low at my last appointment. It came back normal, so I don’t have to take any meds :).
Then after work that evening, we loaded up the car and headed on to Jackson for Thanksgiving with my family. We were hoping that by traveling at night, Caroline would sleep about half of the way instead of going in the morning and risk her not sleeping the whole 5 hours. Well, we drove thru and got dinner to eat on the way and that was okay, but it was harder than usual since it was dark so early. Caroline did fine and watched some Elmo on the iPad, but we had to stop a couple of times for dirty diapers. And she went to sleep about an hour late – but she did go to sleep and it was nice for that last hour and a half. Oh well!
Then when we got to Jackson, we unloaded some and then got her out. She kind of woke up, but we just put her in bed and finished unloading the car. Only problem was, we were all in the same room and we needed to bring our stuff in, so that kind of disturbed her and she was up for another hour until we got in bed! But she slept late and it wasn’t too bad!
Then Wednesday my half-brother and his wife and my sister and her hubby were coming so we just hung out at my parents with my half-sister and her daughter until they arrived. Then we had a fun dinner at Cock-of-the-Walk and Caroline enjoyed playing with her aunts and uncles.
Thursday we went to an early Thanksgiving service at my parents’ church before coming home to finish cooking the feast! Caroline wore her cute little turkey dress, but she didn’t end up eating any:
My parents bought a little swing to go outside for the grandkids and Caroline LOVED it:
Here’s the spread, followed by the fam:
We ate and ate and ate! Then we all had to nap, of course!
The next day was Black Friday, but only Freddy woke up early to get the good deals. My half-sister and niece were leaving that morning so the rest of us went in the afternoon to do a little shopping. That night my brother and his family came over for dinner and to exchange Christmas gifts since we wouldn’t be there. We had a good visit and the cousins enjoyed playing together:
Even little Jude got a seat!
We gave Caroline an Elmo, which she LOVED:
and my parents got her a rocking horse that she also loved (and had to have baby or Elmo with her):
Saturday, Chris and I got to go on a date! My mom watched Caroline while we went to see the movie Unstoppable. It was really good and fun to be out by ourselves! Then Sunday we went to church and headed home, so it was a busy but fun week! Check out more pictures on our picasa site.
