Half way to one!

Our little buddy Luke is 6 months old today! He’s so much fun and doing new things. He’s really good at rolling over both ways and is sitting up by himself for a small amount of time. He usually sees something he wants and just dives to reach it if he’s sitting up. He still likes his jumperoo, but really enjoys playing on the floor on his belly. He’s also been chewing on everything and sometimes a little fussy like he’s teething, but it’s hard to tell if it’s just his age/stage. I don’t see any teeth coming thru just yet!

(his monthly picture is getting harder to take now that he’s trying to sit up!):

He seems SO heavy to me now! It’s getting hard to carry him around, especially in his infant car seat. I think he weighs around 18 pounds, but he doesn’t have his 6-month check-up until the 13th. He’s still in size 2 diapers and is wearing all 9-month clothes. A few outfits are getting a little short, so I’m sure it won’t be long before he’s in 12-month clothes – oh my!

His schedule has changed a little as we’re introducing more baby food. So far we’ve been through the stage 1 fruits and veggies and he’s eaten them all! He’s been going to bed a little earlier (yay!) and waking up a little earlier, usually around 8:15 or 8:30. I usually still pump and then give him a bottle after I drop Caroline off at school, but if he’s up early enough and fussy, I’ll go ahead and nurse him. Then he’ll nap around 10:30 or 11, nurse again around 11:30 or 12, then I give him some fruit and rice cereal about an hour later, or after I pick up Caroline from school. Then he naps again around 2, then nurses around 3:30 or 4. Then he’ll nap again before nursing around 7 or 7:30. Then eats a vegetable about an hour later before he goes to bed around 8:30 or 9. Then I do a “dream feed” (nurse him in his sleep) one more time before I go to bed around 10:30. I’m hoping to drop this dream feed when he’s eating more solids, but for now, I don’t think I could make it 12 hours without feeding or pumping!

Here’s a little preview of his Christmas pics:
