We had Luke’s 9-month check-up yesterday and here are his stats: he weighs 20 pounds, 5 ounces (45th percentile) and is 30 inches long (95th percentile). The doctor pointed out that he’s dropped a bit in weight percentile, but said it was probably because he’s crawling and more active and from being sick last month. I thought he seemed like he was thinning out a little! Looks like we’ll soon be switching him to the other carseat we have that’s bigger and converts to rear- or forward-facing since our infant carrier is for 30 inches or less!
Fortunately, no shots this time but he did have to have blood drawn from his arm for his milk allergy test. We won’t get the results back until Friday or Monday, but I’m pretty sure it’s positive because I tried giving him a different yogurt and he still broke out into a rash on his face. I thought they were just going to prick his finger so I wasn’t really prepared for it, but it wasn’t too bad. They called in another nurse and had the 2 of us hold him down while the other nurse drew the blood. He cried pretty hard, but wasn’t as mad as he has been when he wakes up in the night and I don’t feed him :(. Speaking of which, he’s been waking up at midnight every.night. I thought he might be teething because I’ve been giving him plenty to eat, but then I tried Motrin and he still woke up and it wasn’t time for more medicine. So I’ve just had to nurse him and one night he even woke up twice! We just HAVE to get him back to sleeping again! He is going to bed earlier, around 8:30, which is nice, but he’s not napping much for being up in the night!
