Hello blog-reading friends! We’ve had a crazy couple of weeks so I’m going to do a quick re-cap of what we’ve been up to since I’ve neglected blogging! I’ll start with the week of March 25th:
Sunday: I stayed home from church with Luke since he still had the stomach bug and Chris took Caroline to church. That afternoon, everyone was feeling a little better so we went to ADTRAN (where Chris works) to take some pictures of the kids. I feel like it’s SO hard to get good pics these days, especially of Caroline or of the two kids together. Caroline just isn’t into posing for pictures lately and if I do get a good one, her hair is ALWAYS a mess because as soon as I fix it, she’s rolling around or jumping into pillows and messing it up! Anyway, she was in a good mood that day and we may have bribed her with some ice cream, and we got some really good pictures! Here’s a little preview of some of my favs:

Monday: not much here!
Tuesday: Caroline went to school and I took Luke to the allergy doctor. I asked all sorts of questions and told the doctor about all his reactions and the negative blood test. I also asked about common allergies in addition to milk, like peanuts, and he said they could test for that too. So they did a skin test for milk (a prick test and a puddle test), as well as peanuts, and he had big welts for ALL of them! This confirmed his milk allergy (the doctor said this was more sensitive than the blood test) but the doctor said although it was likely Luke was allergic to peanuts, the test has a 50% accuracy for positive results. So just to be cautious, he recommended not introducing peanuts for a long time and he prescribed an Epi-Pen just in case. Then they will test him again in a year for both things to see if anything changed.
Wednesday: The day went great and Luke had not been sick since Saturday and had only had a couple of loose diapers the day before. So I went shopping for an Easter dress and visited a friend who had just had a baby with another friend stayed with Luke, just in case he was still contagious. He did fine that day, but after I fed him that night, he threw up everywhere! I was SO discouraged and worried because he had been doing so well for a few days, so I decided to take him to the doctor the next morning to make sure nothing else was going on.
Thursday: I took Caroline to school and Luke to the doctor. He didn’t throw up anymore that night or morning, but I knew he probably would if I didn’t take him! They did some blood work and tested his stool and his blood indicated he was fighting a virus, but nothing else. So he had a few more loose diapers after that and then he was fine! It had been over a week since he’d gotten sick, so I was thankful he finally got over it – just in time for our trip!
Friday: I stayed home with the kids and packed up all our stuff while Chris was at work. When he got home, we headed down to Birmingham to spend the weekend with Chris’ family. I’ll have to do another post for the weekend activities!
