I can’t believe I’m so far behind! I think this is the longest I’ve ever gone without blogging :/. The biggest reason is the move but probably the second is my health. At the beginning of July, I was taken off all my thyroid medication in preparation for taking the radioactive iodine pill to kill off the remaining thyroid cells. For the first few weeks I felt fine, then it hit me like a ton of bricks! I had no energy and my mental capacity took a hit as well! It was so hard to collect my thoughts and make plans, much less have the energy to blog while I could be unpacking or napping!
Anyway, enough of the excuses, here’s what’s been happening! July began with swimming lessons for Caroline so that took up most of the first two weeks. She loved it and Luke enjoyed playing in the smaller pool with me while Caroline had her lesson. I think it was great for both of them to get more comfortable with water being in their faces, etc.
We had some summer fun with the kids’ first taste of shaved ice (Caroline loved it; Luke wouldn’t even try it!):
I found a great deal on a train table, which we had been wanting to get for the kids anyway, and got it even though we were about to move! They LOVED it!!
Both of the kids took gymnastics this summer. Caroline had just one or two other kids in her class so I really felt like she learned more this time than last summer when there were so many and it was so crazy. Luke and I did a mommy & me class – it was exhausting but he seemed to enjoy it and learned some new skills. Here he is jumping with his friend Claire and getting stamps together after class:
Then at the end of the next week, the kids spent their last night in the rental house (and Luke’s last night in his crib):
before we all went to Jackson for my friend from high school’s wedding and to drop the kids off so we could go back and move! The kids were so tired and both fell asleep on the way there:
Going, going, gone!
Before the wedding we all went to my little nephew’s 3rd birthday party. They had a big inflatable water slide & the kids had so much fun with their cousins!
The wedding was beautiful and so was the bride! It was fun to see her and my other bestie from childhood :).
We all went to church on Sunday, then Luke stayed in Jackson with my parents and we took Caroline to Birmingham to stay with Chris’ parents. On the way home we saw a double rainbow and thought of our double blessings of children & a new house and of God’s promises.
