As if any time is good to have a bug! I thought I would be posting about Caroline’s big day and party yesterday but unfortunately, it didn’t happen. She threw up early Saturday morning and I was afraid it was the stomach bug again, so I called off the party. I didn’t want to take any chances and infect all our friends! We also had scheduled her first swimming lesson that morning, so we had to call and let them know we weren’t coming. She was a little pitiful when she woke up later, but after an hour or so, she was running around like her old self! Since we didn’t have anything to do with no party, and couldn’t go anywhere with friends, we decided to take the kids to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. We had recently been with some friends and really enjoyed it – they have SO much for kids to do there! So we ended up getting a family membership so we could go all year! Caroline had a blast at the gardens and played and played! She loved the rock fountains and the outdoor ball pit the most. Here she is asking if she can put her foot in: Um, no.
And here she is at the children’s garden:
Afterwards we met Chris’ parents for lunch at Jason’s Deli. Caroline ate a big lunch after not having much breakfast. I was a little wary of her eating so much, but she said she was feeling better and she did great! She had a good nap, but didn’t eat much dinner. Then she’s been fine today, which happens to be Mother’s Day. I’m so glad all were well so we could go to church together! We tried to go to breakfast at Another Broken Egg before church, but the wait was about an hour, so we went to get bagels instead. It was good, but the kids were pretty antsy – I don’t think they would have made it if we had waited an hour! We got to church in time for 1/2 of Sunday school, then we had nursery duty during the 11 o’clock service. Chris was in the infant room and I was helping in Caroline’s class. The kids were good, but we were glad to get home! Here I am with my 2 babies on my 4th mother’s day – I’m so blessed!
For a little flash back, here are my first 3 Mother’s Days:
